the big buck

by Isaac
(bluefield, virginia)

It was early in the morning of November 29, 2008 and it was cold as usual. I hit the trail and went all the way up to 4th field and got in my stand and waited for at least 1 hour. I started hearing some movement about 60 yards away, so then all I could do is wait. So about 5 minutes later this buck that was alone just came out from behind a tree. He was a good ten point buck and I couldn't believe my eyes. He was a giant so I got my 30-06 bolt action and got it ready and got him in my scope. I squeezed the trigger and bam...shot him...he dropped right there. Then I got out of the stand and I got double lungs shot and he lasted my family for 4 months.
