JerkyGent Reviews – Is It A Great Snack For Your Hunting Pack?

Today we are going to share JerkyGent reviews from our staff of hunters as well as from our readers, so you can decide if you should add this to your hunting pack, or as a gift to your favorite hunter.

What is JerkyGent?

JerkyGent is a beef jerky subscription box, where they send you a box of your favorite jerky every month. Essentially a jerky of the month club.

JerkyGent doesn't make the jerky. They are expert jerky curators that seek out the best tasting craft jerky available for their customers.

You can also order a one time shipment to see what kind of jerky you like.

We became of aware of JerkyGent when some of our staff brought some of the beef jerky into our office and said: "You have to try this jerky. I keep it in my hunting pack at all times".

It was People's Choice Craft Made Garlic Ginger Beef Jerky and it was some of the best jerky that I have ever had.

I love jerky and I found myself eating the whole bag.

As the four of us sat in my office and passed bags of jerky around, I realized that we had to do a JerkyGent review and let other hunters know about this innovative company.

JerkyGent Options

JerkyGent has three size options for their subscription boxes:

• JerkyGent Mini which is a box with 2 bags of artisan Jerky.
• JerkyGent Classic which is a box with 4 bags of artisan Jerky.
• JerkyGent XL which is a box with 8 bags of artisan Jerky.

With each box you can choose your preference for spiciness.

• Mild/Medium
• Hot/Spicy

You can also choose your flavor preference:

• Traditional
• Non Traditional

Once you have found your favorite jerky brands and flavors, you can have them delivered right to your door monthly.

Think Jerky Grass Fed Sweet Chipotle 

This is one of my favorite jerkys in the box and here's why:

• Created by Chef Matt Troost, a farm to table expert.
• 100% Grass Fed Beef
• Recipe combines raspberries with a three pepper blend and is the perfect sweet and spicy flavor without being overwhelmingly spicy.

Think Jerky is one of the top artisan jerky makers in the country and they hit it out of the park with this flavor. 

This is in every JerkyGent subscription box that I get and that I send as gifts. I have yet to have one person tell me that they don't like this jerky.

People's Choice Craft Made Garlic Ginger 

This is my second favorite jerky from the JerkyGent subscription box.

The garlic and ginger combination along with the right texture and covered in sesame seeds makes this craft jerky a winner.

I am a big fan of grass fed beef, so I am a little disappointed that People's Choice Tasting Kitchen does not use grass fed beef, but the flavor of this jerky is awesome.

Righteous Felon Craft Jerky Bourbon Franklin 

A really good flavor for craft jerky. It is a combination of bourbon and vanilla bean, along with a bunch of other spices that a favorite among beef jerky lovers.

It comes in a 2 ounce resealable pouch, which is perfect for your backpack.

This is the favorite of a number of guys on our staff and you can always find it in our offices.

Again, I wish it was grass fed beef. That is why it is this far down the list.

Johnny Mac's Smokin Southwestern Tri Tip 

If you like a smokey southwestern flavor with a spicy aftertaste, then this one's for you.

It is a little bit more moist then some of the other jerkys, but the flavor is spot on.

The biggest downfall of the Johnny Mac's is that it does not come in a resealable pouch. That makes it less than ideal for keeping in your hunting pack.

I get around that by transferring it to a zip lock bag, but it is an extra step that should not be necessary.

Also, it is not grass fed.
